about
CTL is equipped to subject materials and test coupons to a wide range of environments before fabrication and/or test.
CTL’s environmental laboratory contains many air-circulating ovens that are capable of short-term and long term thermal exposures. Weight loss can be monitored over time, and oven temperature is closely monitored for the duration of the exposure.
Our facility features several chambers that can be utilized for Thermal Cycling or Thermal Shock testing on your materials. Typical chamber temperature ranges are -90°F to 375°F or room temperature to 600°F. We can use thermocouples to monitor specimen temperature during cycling and compare that to the chamber data.
We routinely perform fluid exposure testing to examine material performance and compare to a baseline. CTL is familiar with procuring and safely disposing of the typical fluids that come into contact with your materials.
CTL has multiple Salt Fog conditioning chambers that are equipped to perform ASTM B117 and ASTM G85 testing. Alternate conditions are also available upon request.
Our team performs TOS testing to assess the material’s resistance to temperature and oxidation effects. Multiple chambers are able to run in parallel and our team is capable of building equipment to meet additional demand.
CTL has un-paralleled capacity for performing conditioning on your specimens prior to test. We have chambers sized for large-sized projects and full-scale components.
